twirling through green branches. For beet

seedlings poking through dark tilled earth.

For Lupin entering after-breakfast dreams

on her bunched-up blanket. For my

hand touching pen to fresh journal pages.

For turtles leaving cold lakes to crawl

back-road gravel, burying their eggs

with absolute trust in sunlight.
